UC San Diego officially confessed to West Shore Seminar

UC San Diego was officially confessed to the West Shore Conference on Wednesday, expanding the conference to 10 teams starting in the 2027 season.

“We continually determine valuable possibilities to broaden our subscription, and the addition of UC San Diego greatly aligns with the goals of the West Shore Conference,” commissioner Stu Jackson claimed in a declaration. “UC San Diego’s meteoric increase throughout its current NCAA Division I change is the result of strong leadership, critical financial investment and intentional planning for postseason success.”

The Tritons completed their transition to NCAA Division I in 2024 and made background by certifying both their men’s and ladies’s basketball teams for the NCAA tournament in their first year of eligibility.

The Tritons will compete in 14 of the WCC’s 16 funded sports, including men’s and ladies’s basketball, football, volley ball, baseball and softball.

The addition of UC San Diego can be found in the wake of Gonzaga’s decision to leave the WCC for the Pac- 12, which will certainly start in 2026 Seattle officially joined the seminar this year.
